I read through the descent part of the CAD Hong Kong accident report , and I wonder what a lot of pilots would have done at the point where you find out one of the engines is stuck at a high thrust (74% N1), at the 0539 hrs time point (4 minutes before touchdown coming in 'hot' at 236 knots).

Since they already deployed the ram-air turbine and started the APU, why not cutoff fuel to the No. 1 stuck engine a minute or two before landing?

I'm not certain what the deceleration rate would be for the last minute or so before touchdown, partially controlled at least by speedbrakes.

I appreciate the decision the crew made to keep fuel flowing to the stuck-high-thrust engine in the moment, although landing at 236 knots is scary, as they found out.

Your strategy?
