Contacted by QR. Info needed

QR has just contacted me.
I have read many posts and I consider myself forewarned. I just need something to tide me over until my recall.
I do have some further questions for anyone in the know.

Is there a contract to be signed?
Is there a training bond?
Do they ask one to resign from their previous employer?
Is 4,500.00 enough to pay for housing, phone etc.?
Do you have to complete a full year before you receive annual leave?
Is 8 days off per roster a fixed number or is that the minimum?
Following is the current package.

Basic Housing Transport Flying Total
Cpt.
16,000.00 4,500.00 400.00 4,000.00 24,900.00
F/O
12,000.00 4,500.00 400.00 2,000.00 18,900.00

ABA Allowance QR 10/- per duty hour
Average Flying Hours 65 – 75 per month, overtime of QR 213.33 ( for Captains ) QR 160.00 (for First Officers ) per hour payable for over 75 hours. [ 8 days off per roster period of 30 days ]
School Fees Subsidy 50% of actual basic tuition fees to a maximum limit of QR 1,600/- per month
Annual Leave 45 days annual leave on full pay for every full year of service
Leave Ticket One free ticket per year to country of domicile on QR NETWORK for employee, spouse, and maximum of 3 children up to 18 years of age. Unlimited rebate tickets on QR NETWORK upon completion of three months service with the company.
Medical / Insurance Free medical coverage for employee and family [ excluding dental and optical coverage], Life Insurance coverage for the employee of QR 250,000/-
There are also other allowances payable for specific duties and responsibilities, details of which can be discussed during the selection process.

TIA

Talking

Cambrian_Shield

If tiding your time is what u have in mind, dont bother coming over here. The company is growing well and is loking for serious individuals not those who like to waste their time and that of others

all youre gonna do is give a bad rep to come of theother hard working seriously interested blokes from your side of town.

if you think the postings by a few dedicated "we hate QR" persons is anything to go by then obviously you have learnt nothing in life.

Learn to make your own choices and formulate your own opinions.

I'm not saying that QR is spotless. But then there are a lot of places that are worse. Maybe you would do better in Kuwait or Oman. If QR was so bad they wouldnt have the 200+ flight Deck crew that they do have at present.

There are a lot of people who come here and are happy as well. would you consider urself fore warned if you hear the good they have to say?

the time is right for you to think about it.

Thanks MT and Tom

Thanks for the info MT. Every little bit helps.

Tom C., I did not ask for an opinion, I asked for information.
The next time I do want an opinion, I will be sure to solicit yours.
It seemed of great value.

Haven't flown in Canada since about 1987 – give or take a year.
I’m guessing, but from that clue, would I be right in thinking that you hope the Qataris are hero-worshippers, pauljeeves?

If he goes to the M.E. - or anywhere outside Australia - pauljeeves and people like him might meet quite a few people who aren't exactly enamoured of their actions back 'then'. Qatar might be just what the doctor ordered for the heroes...
