I've been insured with them for years. Good to deal with and I know several people that are insured and needed to use their insurance due to various medical issues. They were all paid without any of the usual insurance BS.

SAAM is another option (mine indeed).
They're covering loss of licence, temporary incapacitation, death, funeral, juridical assistance and job search.
For 300K€ capital, monthly fee of 206€ (46 years old).

Just had a look on the LIPS website and because I cannot find that they have underwriters, for the main product they offer, started to look in their costs structure.
At current 9 claims, 1 under investigation
According to themselves 64 pilots required to cope with 1 successful claim: 576 pilots
Overhead:
4 committee members, which receive 6000 aed per month: 61 pilots
2 office staff and an office would it be fair to scale this at 15000: 38 pilots
Membership fees for Harvey Watt: ???
Brokarage Fees for Mondial: ???
Insurance fees for Life Insurance and Legal Insurance: ???
With the above uncertainties counted as zero pilots LIPS needs 675 pilots to be cost neutral, which is a more then a third of the current membership according to the website.
All other products mentioned above most probably have the same or even a bigger cost structure, but are underwritten, which means even if the money in the bank account is gone, you will still get your assigned claim payed out.
Just a financial birds eye few, will dive in the terms and conditions after some sleep...

Uograding appn to maximum sum
Hi
I have appn for maximum initial lump sum 340 000€
But I want more to be really secure for liftime if anything happens.
After 3 years you can upgrade the sum to 800 000€
Anyone tried to upgrade APPN to a maximum of 800 000€ lump sum?

You can't increase the coverage level that quickly with APPN. They only let you jump up a few lump sum brackets at set time intervals. I've used them since 2018 or so and it is now up to 380k if I recall correctly. Email their office and they will explain how it works.

Maximum should be 700k eur but it takes time to get there. You can increase by 2 brackets every 5 years, plus 2 brackets every time you have a significant increase of salary due to company change or upgrade in rank, plus the random bracket up due to inflation.
