I'm no cheerleader, but a few things to consider.

1. As of 2010-2011 (cant remember), there is NO expectation of any further profit-share.
2. Low skilled/labour intensive jobs are poorly paid by western standards
3. There appears to be plenty of appetite to finance new airframes.

In response

1. Do your job, NOTHING more NOTHING less, be professional, be proficient, do your thing then go home and forget about the place.
2. Low pay by western standards, very good pay by third world standards, for every position there are 10-15 wanting the job.
3. EK has consistently been profitable and has some of the sharpest commercial and revenue management people behind the scenes.

This place can be tough if you swim against the tide, but its a doddle if you keep your head down, look after number one, and most importantly stay off the fly ops radar (license, passport, booze...messing about down route etc etc)
There are always those who can't keep their mouths shut, those that feel that their opinion matters, those that want to reinvent the wheel.
There will be NO profit share until such time as the recruiters can't attract enough "quality" applicants and it is disseminated by those in power that a happy engaged workforce is more productive and adds more value to a brand than a disenfranchised disgruntled peer group...and thats never going to happen in the UAE, it wouldn't even register as a thought.

Just to be pedantic. 2011 was 12 weeks or so profit-share? I was at the announcement in HQ (not by choice I hasten to add)

Well that is an interesting development. I now have an opportunity to see if I am truly in the pre-dementia phase. If I had received a cheque for 160,000 dirhams 28 months ago I truly believe I would have remembered it. I don't.

Details of profit share payments in years past are on HR direct . If anyone thinks there is ever again going to be a profit share , think again!

Those who think you will see the generous EK management / owners ever give profit share again need to go get a check up from the neck up.

Plain and simple, if ever you see anything for "free" again it will be max 2 weeks, 4 would make me fient and I am expecting NOTHING for the rest of my time in EK.

Greed , Greed and Greed is the EK policy.

Me, Myself and I is my policy and so, take enough fuel and take that paycheck and just be glad there are jobs blooming further East.
