Yes Master Pilotday.... whats wrong with being Australian? I can see you are a good communicator and reading up on CRAR and the RSIs. Keep up the good work.....which I have no doubt that you do..

@Pilotday... Take it easy bud, I am fed up with having to spend half the brief proving to colleagues I am not an Austronaut and comments like yours, albeit potentially in jest, only make things more difficult.

the funny thing is that austronauts never think that they are actually austronauts, they believe only a few others are.
I have seen austronauts getting borne, just give them a 4th stripe and watch what happens.

Anyway... Glad we got that out of our systems? So, maybe Vegas?! I can see about 6 crew members showing up after 48 hours in the clubs and casinos. Excited to see the expansion out west.

Why blame Captain America for Radio Use? Who cares? What safety violation is it with "Good Morning" or "Checking In"? What I get more concerned about is these guys that can't read a radar and fly right through the **** that they shouldn't be flying through. Green is not green depending on your hemisphere and where you are at. I'd rather care about a guy that knows how to read the radar, especially in his current environment, then checking on with ATC. Geez man, get a life. You've got over 300 people on your plane that paid for a smooth ride, and guys like you are more concerned with a radio check in.

Here's my favorite bit from the FAA document
Its a song and dance. A little bit of advice for JAARule, when talking to New York Tracon and change frequencies. pause, listen and wait.
They will call YOU if the radio is so busy you weren't able to "check in" They are good, they know you're there and they know your squawk code and aircraft type.
American ATC is freaking busy, fast, and good. And most importantly, it works.
Who cares if Jaarule gets his panties in a wad over the occasional slang. File an ASR so we all can laugh about it.
The funny thing about all this, I'm not even a yank, I'm columbian with a lot of US experience... hahahaha
But back on topic, sounds like Emirates is doubling its US destinations. The training pilots receive in US operations is very poor. Actually, non-exsistant.
Here's just a few items that should be taught...
Visual approaches = speed and altitude your discretion, unless otherwise assigned
Visual approaches = there is no missed approach procedure, DO NOT fly or brief the published missed from your ILS chart. runway heading, radar assigned.
a. Listen before you transmit. Many times you can get the information you want through ATIS or by monitoring the frequency. Except for a few situations where some frequency overlap occurs, if you hear someone else talking, the keying of your transmitter will be futile and you will probably jam their receivers causing them to repeat their call. If you have just changed frequencies, pause, listen, and make sure the frequency is clear.

I don't understand why a 'visual' is equated to a 'manually flown' approach. One can be cleared a visual approach and accomplish that coupled to an ILS with the A/P engaged. No?

If not mistaken... didn't something come out in the recent FLURRY of FCI's/FCN's saying something about doing a visual and if you happen to go missed, you follow the missed approach procedure for the original approach you were cleared for or executing? I could be mistaken. Soooo many FCI's lately!!!!

The villas would cost less...but the labor/control issues would be greater...and you would spend your hard earned money at home instead of Dubai...never say never...but doubtful...
