On a slightly related note, anyone else hear rumblings tossing around about the idea of building a third runway along the Sharjah side behind maintenance building once corporate and cargo & FZ move.
Would three runways be sufficient to meet the future plans?

Once fz moves? so they will move all the hangars, terminal, fire dept just after building expansions?
I have friends who have been running the construction company that have been building the place, the only things that are on the chopping board is the flower centre and the charlie parking bays.
FZ is on an expansion boys and girls as long as no public transport to DWC they will not move DXB is a two airline airport so live the dream. or is it keep discovering. either way enjoy it all!
plus too many VIPs would be affected so chances of that would be extremely low.

I would hope the 'bits and pieces' include larger toilet and water tanks!!
But wherever you are in an aircraft, 15 to 20 hours say is going to be hard work. So what's in it for the crews and pax? It doesn't make sense commercially IMHO as its about how many people you can shift in a 24 hour period whilst landing the right number of time to max out the utilisation. Doing nigh on 20 hours only gives you one income stream. Lower deck cargo wont complain though.......
As to the diversion on the thread, refer to LHR's third runway debate. There again, what was DWC for in the first place..........
