EK Contract, Ts&Cs

Folks,

Could any of you with EK please enlighten us with regards to the trend in EK benefits (cash and non-cash)?

I suspect that, for many considering making a move in the sandy direction, it is partly to do with escaping the constant degredation of these things in other airlines. I guess EK can still be a party to the race-to-bottom ball squeezing but, since it is rarely discussed here, is the salary dropping consistently with time as new pilots join? Are the surrounding benefits being squeezed? Or is it pretty stable?

If union protection is nonexistent, it would be interesting to note what the trend is.

Thanks in advance.

Book Flights | Find Hotels and Car Rental | Emirates.com

You'll find it. People should not post specific pay and benefits on a public forum.

Generally stable to sum things up for you.

Best of luck

After the GCC our overtime threshold was raised from 78 hours to 92.

The standard of Villa accomodation for new-joiners has, IMHO, slowly dropped over time.

Healthcare is changing, with the company activley wanting dependents to use outside providers and claim back, as the EK clinic is not expanding in line with the rest of the company.

Apart from that, no, we have in fact recieved at least our 3% increment or a payrise of some description most recent years. Allowences etc. have either stayed the same or been increased.

We did not recieve a bonus last year, but did the previous two and SSEEM on track for a small one this year.

Keep a low profile. Don't ever place your superiors in a position to have to back-you-up, to their superiors. Ignore your little voice that tells you to stand-up for what is right. Add in a bit of luck and you will do fine here. Learn to accept certain things if you can and you will probably find yourself amongst the majority of pilots who consider this job to be the most secure and financially rewarding of their career.
That sums up working in the Middle East quite nicely.
