Well not going to argue over something like this. If you go on leave and only earn the guaranteed 25 hours, you definitely won't earn USD 12k. If you wanna earn that much while on vacation, the truth is you got to look elsewhere and I'm not sure where is that. Yes true things are not perfect or all that beautiful but that's relative. Relative to what you are comparing with. Depends where you are and want you want. There are better paying place pit there especially on paper. We are talking about the reality here. You may not touch USD 12k on the first year itself. Have a look:
1st year Basic: RM 13000 + RM 15600 (80hrs) + RM 4800 (48 sectors) = RM33400 - RM 3300 (26%tax) + RM 4000 (12% Employer EPF) = RM 34100 (USD11366)
6th year Basic: RM 17000 + RM 15600 (80hrs) + RM 4800 (48 sectors) =
RM 37400 - RM 4400 (26%tax) + RM 4400 (12% Employer EPF) = RM 37400 (USD12466)
if we wanna talk about the IF's in the world, we can go on forever. That's what it is now, it has been improving year after year and it will continue to improve. Be a bystander, sit on the fence and talk about the IF's or accept it. Where's perfect?

Conceivably, 80 block hours per month on a short haul circuit (4 sectors per day?) would easily translate into 160+ "duty" hours per month?
So, what you're saying is that crews would be having to work their balls off if they wish to earn top dog pay at $12K/mo...?
Must not be utopia when working for dandy Fernandes.

I have way too many hours on the A320 and the A340, but all F/O time. Are they doing rapid upgrades for high time F/0's. Also, how is it thier in Penang? Definately a commuting place or can the family come over? Home base is Florida, commuted before and was rough on the wife kids(6&9yr) . Thanks a million for the info.

This is not a commuting job. You are based in Malaysia. For the time being Kuching seems the junior base and you can try to bid out after 6 months.
A buddy of mine just went there and all he had was CRJ and CE750 time, all FO. You definitely qualified so send those apps out..good luck
