Emirates advertising on PPrune

A part from how ridiculous it looks to see an advertisement directly from EK on this forum (which makes sparks with all the moaning and bitching about them you can find here) it really gives the idea of how desperate they are. The content of the ad it self as well is a little unrealistic and just a bit too enthusiastic ( enjoy a better lifestyle in Dubai... a faster career... are they jocking right?) . They forget to mention as usual that you willl, by joining ,loose all you basic rights as a person and as worker. I have experienced my self what being unilaterally in the end of anaccountable ( well..let's see..) managers may be coming from the subcontinent or some other ****** up country where civilization is a couple of decades or centuries behind with no other protection or law on your side is... and I tell you is not what you want.
I have experienced this personally on my skin and I'm available for any additional info you might require.. Just PM me.
My suggetsions to wise western pilots remains : if you have a job DON'T! Just consider in extreme cases. But then know that it is just a matter of luck...a small problem can turn into a nightmare.
EK is is like Mc Donalds under many aspects. If you look at the menu board all sandwiches looks like very nice, juicy, cripsy and yummi. But when you get you actual meal it looks like **** , a tiny greasy bun with a old cow grounded meat pattie the thickness of a leaf in the middle.
Soon the EK equivalent of Ronald Mc Donald will be sent to road shows...but teh stripes will be red, green and black..

So your bitterness wouldn't have anything to do with your inability to string a sentence together, or indeed spell correctly.

Keep taking the tablets

Jetaim, think I'll print your post and use it as an example of what happens if you fail to pay attention at school!

Not all posters are native English speakers ... having said that it might be useful to correct the words underlined in red!

Back to the thread sbj

EK advertise on Pprune! Why not? Pprune is The Pilot Forum (with all the needed respect to other smaller forum)... and if you are looking for pilots and you want to invest money in advertisement, you choose the fastest way to reach the greatest amount of pilots in the shortest amount of time. Time is money and in advertisement you pay not only the quantity but also the time (which is the most expensive part).

EK and Pprune bitching ...
EK (like EY, QR, CX, BA, etc) are well aware of what's going on around these pages. The pprune threads don't stop pilots to send their applications. And on the other side if EK wants more pilots they just have to lower their requirements ...

Nothing wrong with putting adverts were they think they'll be seen.
And as for desperation there's still a lot of guys not making it through the assessment. Seems to be if they're turned down by EK they're off down the road and getting in there .... that's desperate

Being a native English speaker matters not, applicants are still required to hold an ELP Level 4 or greater....and actually meet that standard.

Ironical post.

I see other operators advertising, why not Emirates?

On the contrary, I don't believe Etihad have bought any advertising space, wonder why?

You guys clearly don't understand how internet advertising works.

The main player in the Internet advertising world is google. Google keeps tracks of all your searches and web browsing history, if you use gmail it also checks whats in your mail. Using this they then create a profile for you and target you with specific ads.
Websites sell space to google, and companies sell their ads to google and ask them to target certain demographics. As such Emirates has probably given their add to google and pprune has signed up for google advertising so anyone who meets the demographic criteria for an emirates ad see's it on the pprune website and on other related websites.

For example, my dad is a experienced pilot, when he logs onto Gmail he sees ads for airlines searching for captains, I on the other hand am a new graduate from flight school, as a result when I log onto Gmail and Pprune most of the ads I see are for flight schools and type rating courses.

Google is basically running the internet now and with the advent of skype it will be able to collect all the information it wants on you and target you with specific ads. Facebook does the same, hence all the ads you see on the fbook website are targeted at you as a result of all the information you give them, i.e. location, age, and all other info.

Hence Emirates might not specify PPrune for advertising, but has asked Google to put their ads in the right places, and PPrune has signed up for Google ads and hence the two, PPrune and Emirates, were paired up using Google logic.

Some more info.

If you put your mouse cursor over any of the ads on this website and check the url that shows up on the bottom of your browser you'll notice that it starts with ad.doubleclick.com url.

Doublclick.com is the Google service for advertising that pairs up websites with the google database to display relevant ads.

Well buddy, you can't blame them if you're going to be using google to search for male enhancement pills and using anonymous gmail accounts to send your female colleagues pics of the results. And like I said google checks those emails, and they know its you.

EK have been advertising on Pprune for years. Posters would ask, "what's EK like?" and the answer would be, "great, nobody leaves..." Can't buy that kind of publicity anymore....

All went down hill after they handed out the oven mitts. How could they have expected to follow on after an act like that. Peaked way too soon.
