Great post!
Thanks for that! Very informative and that helps a lot!
When you bid, are there any priority order of your bids by the way?
I've been told in Fly Dubai you can list your sector(s) you'd like to get rid of and hope for someone to take it, anything similar in the EK system?
I've got a few other question that's of less importance but I'm still curious about. What's the policy (if exist) regarding baggage for flight crew? If you pick something up on a layover, can you bring it back? Weight limit? Got friends with another carrier and they buy stuff all over and it's never a problem (50# bought in Dubai and brought back for example). If you have a liquor license, can you bring alcohol back or is there any EK policy preventing that?
Cheers

ULR FTLs?
An Emirates DXB-LAX-DXB trip consists of 2 Capts and 2 FOs. (2 Crews)
One Crew 'operates' DXB-LAX while the other Crew augments (operates while the operating Crew rests during cruise). The roles reverse on the LAX-DXB sector.
When operating, the whole flying time is logged for the purpose of FTLs.
When augmenting, only the time spent as an operating crew is logged.
Typically on a 31hr 30min trip (DXB-LAX-DXB), pilots will log 22-24 hrs.
