Seattle, Chicago, Miami, Washington, Boston, Las Vegas, Buenos Aires, Santiago etc.
Slight thread creep - did you see Willie Walsh complaining on BBC World about cabin products ( and I wasn't referring to him as the Creep).

Up yours Harper? He's the only one with any balls to stand up to the royal pricks in the UAE
As to new routes, ORD anyone? perhaps Buenos Aires? mayby MIA? (God forbid though as that place is a cluster F**k)

So much for roster relief on the B777. If EK is gonna pull off that kind of expansion on ULR flying, factoring and 90+ hour months are here to stay.
In my last wash up, FNG said less flying in March and onwards... liar. I guess I should not be surprised

That's some relief for the Boeing fleet.

What he DIDN'T say was that they would be down permanently- they won't.
They MUST have a surplus this Summer, or else they will have to park Aeroplanes come Christmas, as there simply isn't the capacity to train fast enough to cover the deliveries.

hours will be down from March and through the Summer
Just like they were supposed to be down in Sept and Oct and Nov and Dec and Jan and blah blah blah....
I've lost any optimism I once had with regards to increasing my days off. I'm sure come March they will find a way to add a more flying, one way or another.
I know this comes off as sounding a bit bitter. I'm really not though. Just realistic.

It eludes me why this news should be instead of
Is it the fine local cuisine? the friendly locals? the well-ventilated and comfortable hotels? sunny skies?
Help me out

United flys direct IAD and is full everyday...I've sucessfully ID90'd them once and the in the back its full of our kind of customers, EK would decimate them on that sector.
Delta to ATL is similar, I've been told.
Just an observation...EK dispatch if they are planning to go to ORD had better be less conservative in their winter flight planning then what I've seen out of them this week to JFK. (I can't speak of YYZ). Farthest alternate then say 30 mins extra holding is sufficent enough for an international arrival into ORD, JFK, IAD. If we're serious on a North America expansion then get used to the snow and ice, airports there won't close for a few inches and don't institute the same sort of panic planning that is the norm (and required) of the UK airports when there is flakes in the air.
my two dhs...
