UAE Based Co-Pilot Arrested after Joking he had a Bomb onboard fly Dubai

Passengers aboard a Fly Dubai airliner at Amman international airport were evacuated on Monday after a passenger who reportedly works as a co-pilot made a bomb threat, a Jordanian security official told AFP.

"An Australian passenger told a flight attendant he wanted to see the captain, just as the aircraft was about to take off. When his request was refused, he claimed he had a bomb and threatened to blow the plane up," the official said.

"Police were alerted and managed to evacuate the passengers before beginning a search of the plane," he said. "No explosive device was found."

"The passenger who made the bomb threat is a co-pilot who works in the United Arab Emirates . He said he was just making a joke. He was arrested, and an investigation is now under way," the security official added

Edited out the rubbish!

Fire him for absolute stupidity. With that accent, it's lucky anyone understands Australian sarcasm... Don't ever assume people understand your humor.

Perhaps he was looking for a "clever" way to get out of his EK training bond???? Not a good idea.

Indeed, 7 days refers to the pax as Jordanian. Not that it matters he's still an idiot. Nice going Emiratipilot, insult an entire nation with your first post. History suggests that bomb hoaxes come from just about all corners of the globe

May be a good idea to rename this thread eg Paxing Pilot Makes Bomb Threat. Still is amusing to see how quickly people make anti-Aussie threads. Stereotyping by nationality....Whatever floats your boat I guess!

Okay, but the big question nobody answers is: WHY ON EARTH DID HE WANT TO SPEAK TO THE CAPTAIN? I am just bursting to know.
