Refusing Job Offer
Hello,
Anyone knows, in case you got a job offer from EK and refused it , what would be the consequences for a potential future application ?
Would you be "blacklisted" and for how long ?

Year after year its a pay cut. There hasn't been a pay rise in a long time.
Im happy to stand corrected after its released in May, but for those of us who have been around it ends up being more work (flying) for less money after inflation.
Lots written about this in other forums. Too lazy to post.

1- Never get emotionally involved with the company policies or about people from management.
2- DO your job (fly), go home and live your life! That's all
3- They pay you to do whatever they want! That's why you're in Dubai
4- keep yourself always within high standard, about flying skills, technical knowledge and etc. Demand a lot from yourself and very few from others.
Follow this 4 rules and you'll be happy in everywhere and never will get involved in problem.

You dont have any idea about EK do you...
E.g. No.2: live yr life? Hahaha the only thing you do is getting yr body up to speed to work again in 1 or 2 days.

Hi guys,
which one is the profile that they are looking for? I have around 6000 hours total and 4500 hours in Airbus A320 still FO but not sure if I want 380....could I choose 777 or is it mandatory 380 for an airbus guy...?

It matters little what you want. It only matters what they want. If you want 777 they will hire you as a 777 driver. But, if they need 380 drivers then upon your arrival they will switch you to 380. This bait and switch has been going on at EK for at least 10 years. If you go there, you must be willing to work either fleet. I will skip the are you crazy lecture.

Sorry mate but that is a complete generalisation. It's a known fact that the cripple is taking much of the 330 night turns but to say that 380 guys are happy to go for 10 more years and only 12 months for the 777 drivers is tosh.
It's ironic that 2 colleagues I know who've been here for around 13 years or so and both on the 380 and are leaving, one to Korean, the other not sure. I know of plenty of guys that although complaining of the night turns, actually like the Boeing routes because of the variety and the freighter. Some colleagues of mine who are on the super fleet whilst having 14 0r 15 days off are completely spaced out with the constant ULR's. One of them has done 3 this month and two Europeans and he's f***ed.
Not everyone wants to spend half of their flying in a noisy CRC with kids banging on the walls.

I second Harry's post... The super guys have it only figuratively nice ...doing ULRs, flying to all majors dest does get cumbersome..I'm sorry for the guys on the 330 .. But the 777 still remain the best in my opinion, as you get a best of everything

I have yet to meet a happy pilot on the 777 fleet. The majority of folk I talk with on the 380 are generally happy with the roster side of things. Some say they could do another 10 years. Guys on the Boeing mostly talk another 12 months here. Simply not sustainable for the most part.

Thanls for your post, to be honest I would like to fly Boeing at some point in my career if I can but also I would like to have the doors open to come back to Europe with a Boeing rating.... I saw that many airlines consider experience on the A320/330/340 for a position but not the 380...or am I wrong?

A320CaptDav perhaps you could tells how you like the 777 rosters? Oh wait, you can't cause you don't fly one, you don't work for EK and I doubt very much you are a Capt! You and the infamous Iver must be best buddies in a trolling kinda way.

As for EK I just shared an opinion, you clearly seem another frustrated and ignorant pilot that got through EKs selection process. If anybody like yourself that think things are gonna change around at Ek they must be clueless.
