Emirates (EK) Interview - all you need to know about it (threads merged)
Nah I think it's jut the rejection email wording that hasn't been updated.
Maybe they have a pool of guys who've just applied with a little more than what you currently offer so they've not accepted you at this stage.
Try again in a year once you've got a bit more under your belt or maybe a different operation (airline rather than bizjet) and you might find their opinion changes.
Unfortunately large operations are very impersonal and you won't find out the reason for rejection...

Rejection?
Is it a rejection e-mail - ie. you are not suitable for Emirates and don't contact them again?
Or did they state you do not currently meet their requirements and keep updating? That would be a very different situation.
Obviously they will interview from the top (in terms of experience) down as number/quality of applicants and recruiting needs vary. So you could meet the mins and not yet be invited in.
I can tell you at the moment it is very fluid at EK and today's hold pile could well be tomorrow's interviews.

It's weird...
In my current company, a cargo turboprop operator.
A FO is invited for the PSP1, while a captain (with obvious more hours and PIC hours) got a rejection mail.
So how do you explain this? Go figure...

But a friend of mine, who is a turboprop captain with another airliner with a lot of hours and PIC hours as well, just went to a PSP1 assessment... He is not that young, nor fresh anymore.

New SIM profile
Hi guys,
I just heard that there is a new SIM profile. I was wondering if this is also in DXB because I understood it was in Heathrow.
VFR Dep Air Work ( Climbing turns descends), raw data, single engine go around...
Myst

Hourly rate flight pay
Can someone enlighten me what the hourly rate is for flight pay received for flying hours on top the basic salary for both Capt's and F/O's?
Does it stay the same up to the threshold or does the rate go up once in overtime?
Just crunching some numbers
Cheers

Skytest or LatestPilotJobs
Hi all,
Have been invited to the Pilot Selection and am considering subscribing to either Skytest or LatestPilotJobs to aid preparation. Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on whether one may edge the other?
Thanks, Heinz

Hi...I applied to EK late last month. All I have received after submitting the application was that, they will get back to me within six weeks. If not then they will not cocider me this time. I have an ICAO ATPL and Level 6 ELP,total 2400 Hrs with with 2100 on ATR and safety and audit experience, which is ongoing.
Is some one able to shed some light.

I will go slowly .
Late last month - this means that 6 weeks have not past yet .
If you do not hear from them within 6 weeks , then they will not concider(sic) me this time - means just that!

Just writing to confirm Mystico's post in regards to new profile.
There is a new profile, as you said its 3 modules:
-General handling with upper air work
-Raw data
-S/E work
Heathrow was mentioned too, and that wasn't on PSP
Very vague,
Best of luck anyway!

Passed on Monday
Hi folks, passed my final assessment on Monday, interview had no technical or ATPL stuff related contents. These elements are covered through the compass test already. Waiting now for the next steps, if anyone needs some extra information, please contact via PM or e-mail. Very helpful the ATTC guys, used remote training Emirates Assessment, Recruitment and Selection Process (but to be honest it includes a lot of stuff which was not necessary, f.e. briefing of CRM case studies etc., but as mentioned, they asked no technics, no CRM).
Ciao,
Michele

Anybody knows how they evaluate the candidates on the assessment? If you do a good sim and the group exercise is not so good o viceverse?. What's the importance on the math/technical compare to the simulator.

Cpt. Stephans
... talked with Cpt. Stephans (think, he's the top of the recruitment at EK) these days, asked for a friend of mine, he ensured me that he's got some flexibility if aspects like social background (btw. married with children highly preferred!) and good prospect to reach the minimum requirements within a reasonable time.
Ciao,
m.
