Hey guys & girls
I apply to Emirates in Dez14 and on February 15 I received a call from the HR for a "interview"
That went ok, just questions about my self, hours and ratings

Since then I didn't get any more news from Emirates

Any clue what could happen or what I should do ?
I continue see advertisement to 380 and 330 like I just saw today and it's quite strange that having my cv there and I meet all the requirements there's no development.

Thanks in advance.
( rated A320 with 5200 total time )

Don't forget the huge cost of living increase in Dubai.
And no real pay increase to make up for it.
Outstation / layover per diem decreases.
Rosters out of our control.
Forget about getting your contracted 42 days annual leave.
The list goes on...

If you must come to the Middle East, there are only two choices.
The other UAE airline or Qatar.
That's it.
Simple.

Min. Req of EK ?

Hi guys!!

a quick question about the min. req. of EK

Emirates is looking for the best pilots in the world!

We are hiring motivated, technically proficient and experienced pilots who aspire to excellence.

If this describes you, and you have an ICAO ATPL along with excellent English language fluency (to ICAO English level 4 or above) we would like to hear from you.

We will accept applications from pilots from multi-engine, multi-crew, turboprop and jet aircraft, including business jets, with a MTOW of 10 tonnes or more.

What should I understand from this ?

I have 1673 Total Flight hours,1500 on Airbus A320.

Can I apply to this opportunity? Any idea??

Why don't you just apply and see what happens?

Yes, for an unfrozen ATPL you need at least 1500hrs, and some PIC/PICUS

Looks like they have now split up the interviews for the US guys.

A one day interview session miami.

Then travel to DXB if you pass.

Anyone done the one day part?

The selection programme is a 2 stage selection process comprising PSP 1 and 2 which will require your attendance for one day only and will involve assessments including aptitude testing, advanced COMPASS testing, an abstract reasoning test and an assessment in an B777 simulator and no knowledge of the 777 is required. All essential information will be given in the briefing. Candidates who are successful at this stage will then be invited to Dubai for PSP 3 at a later date to complete the remainder of the selection programme. The aim of this programme is to reduce your time spent in Dubai to fit in more easily with typical roster patterns.

8 guys PSP 3 : 18OCT-20OCT . THEY had completed SIM and compass test in their home country. Malaysian folks. They managed 5/8

10 guys PSP WHOLE set in DXB 18-21 OCT ----3 slashed during SIM RIDE.
5 more lynched after phycho and HR interview.
2 left to continue to medical. One pleasant oz guy and a SA Guy.
Nationalities : a motley crew of Europeans, OZ, SA And one ME guys.
All are very capable.

Another bunch started on 19 Oct. About 5 slashed during sim ride. Day 2 just physcometric test and HR briefing plus accomodation visit.
Good luck to them . Do not know further as I already left on 21.

Just because we are short of pilots doesn't mean recruitment is going to skimp on quality. All very capable? In who's eyes?

So? How does a new sim profile matter? Either you perform to the standards they are looking for or you don't. Quite simple. Considering how things are going here, they should consider it a blessing not getting selected.

Seaman S,
Turkish pays less than Norwegian now, in real terms. Unbelevable. They also require type rating, well highly desirable.

Korean, are you kidding? Ask your buddies there about the 4 months confined to Itchy in the bitter winter . To then be failed on your first flight by some "the only way is Korean" pilot.

That other ME airline, the one with chaotic rosters , need we say more?

Qatar, its a joke that they are now considered worthy.

highfive,
I have read your post and you made me realize that the best we can do is to stay home jobless and eat the furniture.

highfive,

Joke or not, QR is shaping to be the best package in the ME, especially after the recent positive changes in rosters and pay.

As to the one with the chaotic rosters (as opposed to the non-chaotic peaceful rosters at EK), I'll have you know that a handful of pilots here would kill for the opportunity to join them.
