The web site Dubizzel contains many apartments to rent in Dubai. Thats if you decide to take the allowance instead of the company provided accommodation.

Thanks. My wife has been using dubizzle heavily for some time now!

I understand that even if you do opt for the accommodation allowance, you have to wait a few months before qualifying. presumably in temporary company accommodation.

Riding a bike in Dubai, especially on Emirates road, is something you should think very carefully about.
