Generally most of CC are OK. It is all about being professional.
Sometimes I see stupid and arrogant CC (for example W.H.S.-Australian d**k head )
but it is not that difficult to show who is in charge.

Guys, If you want CC go and find them in clubs or pubs.. The company and many other companies wants their FDC to keep some distances with CC and this is totaly normal nowadays ... On duty stay on low profil , off duty have fun ...

YES IN QR THIS WAY OF THINKING IS CALLED GOOD CRM AND THAT IS WHY CABIN CREW AND COCKPIT CREW HAS BEEN SEPARATED DURING CRM CLASSES AND HONEST PEOPLE RESINGNED FROM CRM Inst POSITION AFTER THAT .

Strange, as my CRM course was done with 4 flight deck and 20 cabin crew. Best CRM course I've done, compared with other airlines i've worked for.

it was just recently changed back to a normal CRM class of both Cabin Crew and Flight Deck.
and yes, it is a good class, it's one of the only recurrent classes that i have actually enjoyed over the years (except for one, but he resigned the management post thank god)

to all the pilots..dun bite the hand that feeds u..the cc may have to serve u as part of their jobscope but their primary duties are to ensure you are not incapacitated every 30mins..if u r nice, u'll get more than u ask..basic rule of thumb..something to think abt..

Veronique,

Can you please recite me the chain of command onboard QR?

Cabin Crew is extrtemely important and the face of the airline. However, it is their DUTY to provide the MASTER PERSONNEL, which is the cockpit crew with their utmost respect and service. it is US who are responsible for their safety. At the same time, it is our responsibility too to SUPPORT the CC during situations in the cabin. That is also our responsibility and any Captain who claims "I'm not paid to be involved in this" denies his chain of command and captaincy completely and is not suited for pax. flying.

CC not respecting flight deck crew however is always resulting in a report from me. Simple. In return, they always get my utmost respect and support. In and out of the aircraft ( layover, where you as captain are still the highest authority within the company)

ps. I don't like Evian ayway

Having been there pre AAB and when he took over it is amazing how things have changed in the CC Dept. SK, as he has been doing for years, simply tried to kiss the backside of the CC Mgr but it didn't work because he was in fact reported a few times and the CCM used to attend all his briefings. ES - I was the one who greeted him at the airport upon his arrival - shy, naiive and affable. It is interesting what a little bit of "power" does for you.

I met AAB's brother at a party - completely different from AAB - and he mentioned a few things, one being AAB's liking for Black Label!! Now he simply drives other people to it!

His first words to us when he took over is that he has an "open door policy" and everyone is welcome.....Hmmmm

I only ever had one issue with FD and this was a local FO (now capt) who was upset because he could get all the espresso he commanded!

Usually layovers were fun and involved most of, if not all of, the crew. Some good times indeed - it appears those days are now few and far between.

Cheers

HR
