EK: "forced" leave appears.
I flew with a pilot recently who stated that EK told him to expect four days of (forced) leave in the August as he will be close to timing out.
Four days is of no use to anyone, just my opinion....the whole practice smells.
Has anyone else received similar news from the company?

Timing Out
Sorry but...How do you "Time out" at EK?
With factoring, 1000 Hrs Plus is (Emirates) legal.
Guys over 900 Hrs but still flying due factoring of ULR's.
Just seen a very senior boeing capt on the swap email post a roster with 98hrs rostered for july.
August is going to be worse I hear!
This can't go on.

Why you think they didn't award you full leave for the year anyway. Almost all guys I know have been allocated only 30 days leave (the absolute minimum according to UAE law) iso 42 days. Anyone going over 900 hrs factored WILL be awarded with forced leave. And not days in one string, but 4 days here and 4 days there....
The think that really stinks is that they deliberately planned this some time ago. If you don't believe me try planning some extra leave; The system is totally blocked out for the coming 10 months.
You should thank TCAS for this one. A few more $$ in his pocket as cost savings bonus.....Fatigue, what fatigue?
Keep recovering.

It may be the 100 in 28 days which is the problem. I've never (yet!) hit 900 hours but I have had trips taken off me before when I've been up to 100 in the previous 4 weeks. I'm sure it is only going to get worse.

QCM- to be honest I don't see it easing up for at least 3-4 years. 700 pilots in the next 18 months will be impossible to do and attrition is under estimated. Not to mention the next 1000 after the 700 .

Bidding system
About six months ago i had heard that the bidding system for the EK pilots is gonna go and so i posted it here. Now one can see it plainly.3 months in a row and all i am getting is exactly what i never bid for even in my so called top bid month.92 hours roster has become a NORM.Whether one gets a jar of vaseline or sits on an air cushion it is not gonna ease the pain.
Keep discovering and keep recovering...The worst is around the corner,,,

100 in 28
So you can factor ULR/ 3 crew flights for your yearly 900 but not for the 100 in 28.(Strange)
GCCA turned down Ek's request for 1000hrs, but said ok to factoring which means you can do more than 1000hrs.(Strange)
Doesn't make any sense!
Oh No mention of factoring in the copy of CAR-OPS1 that I have. Dated 01 Nov 2009
Is it legal...Not sure.

So slowly but surely 92 hrs has become the threshold, the basis (al quaida in Arabic)...it used to be a far away target, far ahead, I mean as a regular monthly routine...now 98 hrs threshold is coming at least for July even for guys into their reserve month...what will be August...???

I'm bouncing off 900 hours (over 950 including 'bunk-time'. Average over 95 hours for the last 2 months including leave. Got zip-all that I bid for in July. August by all accounts is going to be a stinker
