EY Career Progression
Hi Guys
I was just wondering why someone that should be mix fleet 320/330, in less of 6 month is mix fleet 330/340??????????
Did anyone realised that this Cpt is going through the Cereer progression system very fast??
I know that is quite normal in EY, do you think they still don't care either if Pilots start resigning??

Dear Sir.
Let me be more specific.
As far as I know is not a Manager (Is there any difference on a Career progression for a manager??? yess off course if is on under the Sun light)and he just did is CCQ 320/330 few month ago.
Now the rule is:
-Afther minimum 2 succesful OPC's you are eligeble to bid for CCQ/MFF 330/340, wich was not RESPECTED.
-Type freeze policy is MFF combination A330/A340 shall be maintained for a minimum of two years, wich was not RESPECTED.
Anyway again is quite normal in a Company where a 737 F/O is joining direct as 777 F/O....
Asta luego

So why was he shown preference? Maybe you can enlighten us on his preferential treatment. Im sure most of the 320 guys would really love to get on the 330 and of course the 340. The wide body lifestyle is way better than the "tuk tuk" less early starts and night turns to the sub continent.
Hasta la vista hermano.

Thankfully Im not on the Bus, but one thing I cant understand is that if this sort of thing is going on why not go to the fleet office and ask?
Writing all this under a psuedoname will get you no answers, just fill your head with more rumours!....be a man/woman and go ask the fleet chief!
What is the problem training an F/O from 737 to 777, from an NG its a very easy conversion.
Not jealousy is it?

Yeah right ...Ask and be sacked....
That's company culture there....

Yeah, if you go to the office looking for a fight, you'll get one.
Ask the appropriate person, choose your words properly, and you'll get an answer. And if you ask several people in the right places, on average you'll probably find out the truth to this. Once you think you have it, let's hear it.
I really get annoyed by all this self-pity always. If you're so paranoid, then how come you still dare to post on this forum?
You know what: Many of these threads about the ME start off with something interesting, but after the first four or five posts just turn into the usual crybaby-blahblah. Perhaps it makes you feel better if you have the feeling that somebody is listening(reading), but you could start an "Annonymous Pilots"-meeting somewhere else instead, and leave these threads to those who do actually have something more interesting to say.
Anybody have an answer to the original question? Or are we going to have another six pages of the usual diarrhea now before the thread turns dead?

sandyballs,
Well i think the issue that people take with this situation is that it was against company policy to hire a non rated pilot without first offering the position company wide. So there are pilots who have been stuck on the 320 for instance who should have had priority for that position. But instead policy was not followed and a special favor was granted. It just feeds the mistrust of management when they say one thing and do something completely different.
Nightfire,
I don't think it's self pity. It sounds like a legitimate complaint. This would never happen at a carrier with a union or an airline with a real contract. Obviously there are no unions in the middle east but you can't fault pilots for expecting the written policies to be followed. Go look up career progression in your skybook and see what the company says.

Nightfire, I think the answer to the original question is pretty obvious. Its there in black and white. As for getting fired for asking a question, I think thats pretty far fetched. As for getting a straight answer, forget it. Yes I have done as you suggested and approached in person to get information on a certain issue and was blatantly lied to as I found out the next week.
