Shalom My Friends, Looking for Saudia Information

Shalom! Good day!

I am looking for information about Saudia. I saw they have a job advertisement up for Boeing 747 Classic pilots. I am in Canada, and very interested in a possible expat job. I have some time in the Twin Otter, and the various Convairs. I would like to move onto other heavy aircraft besides the Convair.

Any information is much appreciated,

Shalom!

To be fair, that's what he's doing here... (but I too had a chuckle).

SW, to explain: saying "shalom" to a Saudi would be the local equivalent of your turning up, (first date), to take a girl to the prom whose dad is a serious practising Southern Baptist... and having a string of strawberry tickler condoms fall at your feet as you handed her the corsage - with a very attentive dad at her side.

In short: not good.

Do you meet their requirements? It doesnt sound like it!

I wonder how long your interview would last if you walked and said "shalom"...

Shalom issue

As no one is explaining why: Shalom is the Hebrew word for Peace, and Saudi and Israel are not on let me say friends basis.

Use the word Salaam, and you are OK!

I think it is fair to say that without the type rating and some
experience on type you are not going to be in the serious running
for the position.

Plenty of 74 experienced guys looking right now.

And I think most of them know enough about the region not to say
Shalom to a Muslim.

SW_US....

Why don't you mail the Saudi Airlines by yourself? I'm confident they will be very happy to give some accurate answer to your enquiry!

P.S. Make sure that you use the same header words in your message to them...just for the sake of mutual warm welcoming!
