Reduced rest post EK ULR Ops

Nice to see there has been a reduction in rest required following ULR ops, with absolutely no input from the pilot community Oh and now the F/o's have to segregate all the post flight paperwork at EGHQ whilst, of course, off duty!!! What next? And, yes I know, I should be happy to have a job!!!

.... press 2 and state fatigued, NOT SICK.
They will call you in for form fillings, a visit to the sypathetic doctor ... who cares, not a big deal, give them all the info ... and change the appointment three times, due kids, cat, maid etc. until they're themselves sick of the game .... wear them out with their crappy own methods.

(oh and i'm so sooorrry, just accidentally spilled my "keep me awake" coke over the document box ... tough luck ...)

So let me see.....I get back from a ULR sector, let's say Mel, a 14hr15 block. I wait 45 mins after I am officially off duty for a high loader to arrive for the suddenly unable to walk passenger, finally get to EGHQ an hour after arrival and then I must take my envelope, plus the envelopes from the Dxb-Mel, Mel-Akl and Akl-Mel sectors and do the work of the admin clerks, conscientiously filing the applicable docs in the right boxes; red box, green box et al....all in my off duty time! Do I understand this correctly?

Incredible! What next? So, if in my tired and bewildered state I were to drop the whole lot in the blue box or even better, the recycling box, what can I expect? Will I be called back on one of my 9 off days this month to resort my efforts or will they allocate this to one of my 3 ADs instead? I guess it will end up as a warning letter with an admonition to focus more closely on my post-flight duties.

You better laugh or you gonna cry!

Fugazi,

Can you let us all know where you got the info about the reduced rest post ULR flying? I know this is a rumour forum but how about some facts for something this important?

Next step is after your ULR flight, you drive the crew car, pick up the next guy. He drops you at home and drives himself to the airport. The circle starts again... now we can share the pain with redundant drivers too, as if they didnt have pain enough

You might be right!!!

The way I read it...as little as 36 hours off after a ULR before a non-ULR sector (versus 70 before), and as little as 60 hours between ULR flights, down from approx 108 hours before. No that's just plain crazy!!!!

I was reading the Notice re the paperwork and only got to the ULR changes now. It seems that TC is getting closer to his dream of one crew operating the aircraft on a duty on/duty off basis like a ship, as he previously stated was his wish some years back.

Soon we will not need hotels at all. Those luxurious CRCs will be our home and with a bit of planning we will be able to stay in touch with our families via inflight internet. Touching down in Dxb we will be able to get a fresh change of clothes before heading off again.

Are they mad!?

Touching down in Dxb we will be able to get a fresh change of clothes before heading off again.

Then again they could tighten up the space and install coin-operated washers...use the run-off from the showers..

Showers (and bar) to go, I'm told, to be replaced by seats.

Now who would have guessed that? I think someone - moi - even predicted that right here on these pages.

All joking aside, with rosters like those promised under these new rules, I believe that the FAs' 20 minute checks are going to become a really important part of our 'safety culture'.

Why are they replacing the shower and bar with seats? They needed less than a 100 seats for the paying pax on a recent 202 JFK-DXB....

Can the CRS team confirm that the bidding rules have changed? Or will our bids be rejected?
I know " why bother bidding?"
