Well having just spoken the one of the very Senior recruiters today I can assure you Emirates are not taking on pilots at the moment, in fact the whole recruitment dept is on "gardening leave" apart from those involved with Fly-Dubai.

Looks like they might not start back until Jan at the earliest could even be as late as march!!

3500 hours

Is it still possible to apply for an FO position if you are between the 3500-4000 hour mark?

This option was available a few months ago. Just wondering, as it may be pointless to fill out the application form and it not to be entertained.

Some of these 'agencies' and 'advertisers' sell batch advertising in their mags and rags. IF, (notice I said if) Emirates bought a bulk ad from Flight Global (one ad for say, three weeks at lesser rate, two for the price of one, that sort of thing) then Flight Global is going to run the ad as purchased. Even though, Emirates may have turned the tap off for now.
Don't be surprised if it shows up in next weeks FLIGHT.

Suspicion reigns that due to the difficulty to recruit for FlyDubai, the list for Emirates is still beeing filled, with all the usual promises of dates and then deferrements. At some time they will then inform about even more late EK slots but fairly early FlyDubai slots could be offered....

I had it confirmed that it will be well into next year until they recruit again depending upon on further delays to aircraft deliveries and the global economy.

Offers made and accepted perhaps, but they're not "Hired" until their feet hit the sand. Interesting to see how many actually turn up.

given the current economic crisis around the world do you think that these guys will be inundated with other options?

Maybe we should just wait until the Boeing strike is over. Then we can at least predict when the next 777s might arrive. A380s arriving at a trickle and 3 A310s sold, therefore plenty of crews for the time being.
