I realy like Oman air but safety is getting affected now and no management seems to care, it's all political but they don't fly the aircrafts. They have the potential to be a very nice and safe airline.
But..........

Make your own experince

Hello!
Oman is a very nice place and the Omanis are polite with great hospitality. If you have the opportunity to join them, do it.
If you want swinging night life, look somewhere else. Living in the country side is not bad. There are lots of different activities for you and your family depends on what you are interesting in.
Give it a try and experience for yourself, you always has the possibility to resign if you do not like there for some reasons.
Regards
From an expat who spent 11 years in Oman and still visiting the country from time to time.

Hi,

Does anyone have any contact info for the recruitment department at Oman Air?

I am a 737 300-900 rated pilot with just over 500 hours on the NG. Not sure thats enough but cant hurt to give it a shot.

One thing that should be kept in mind about allowances:
nobody pushes you to find something that fits the allowance... the main reason why companies are using allowances is that compensations are based on the basic salaries, meaning that lowering basic and increasing allowances is good for companies and not that much for employees.
It doesn't mean so much to compare allowances to market prices since it's the full package that makes sense.
May I suggest to claim for toilet paper allowance, sunglasses allowance, still water allowance, Christmas log allowance etc...?

Thanks a lot mailbag, I see you understand the very deep regional legal issues of employment contracts but it's not the case of most of the people willing to move in the area, that's why I guessed it might be an interesting contribution to elaborate about the origin and real meaning of allowances. I'm now listening to you master...

I agree with you mailbag, my intention was just to remind the real purpose of such allowances. The housing allowance is not mainly intended to pay for housing but mainly to reduce the basic salary. This is why with all the possible scenarios it is better to consider a full package to evaluate an offer...

Yes , there are over 60s in Omanair , that is not an issue here.
NG Rating and time are becoming more popular again .
Lots of recruitment to come , adverts soon .
Transport allowance not given , but as cars are the cheapest I have ever seen and as fuel is about 15p a litre , it is simply not an issue !
Watch this space.

oman recruitment

Just curious to find out the Oman Air recruitment process, is it as comprehensive as EK/EY or just interviews/medicals and sim.
Also when are the A330's going to be on the line.

Cheers

Applied to Oman Air about 1 week ago via email to [email protected]. Received a response asking for several
scanned copies of various documents. Has anyone been through the process lately? Interested in mainly the process of screening, sim etc.
Also have applied to FlyDubai but havent heard back as yet. As they say feast or famine. It will be tough to choose between OmanAir & FlyDubai.
Both seem to have many positives as well as negatives.

That is not correct , it is 6000 hours TT , 1500 jet , 1000 P1 737 with the bulk being on NG . Current NG captains that come close will be considered .
Supply is going up and demand is going down ( worldwide that is - Not Omanair )
