Cool

I received an e-mail in early December, placing me in the holding pool for EK. I fully expect to be there for the better part of a year before I may be invited for an interview. The e-mail specifically states that being in the holding pool does not guarantee an interview.
All the same, I am hopeful that they'll find a spot for me.
For the previous pilot who asked, I have 8000 hours and an A-330 endorsement.
Best of luck to everyone.

9700 total with 3700 jet & 3000 turbo-prop.

Hope that helps

Most of the others l know are around the same mark, and none have type ratings on any EK type.

Good luck and be patient.

Cool

Actually Silky u may be in with a better chance because they are particulary interested in command time on jets. Currently most of the guys they are taking have this.

Typhoon Pilot;

I filled out the on-line application for EK during the first week of Nov./01. About two weeks later a I received a computer generated e-mail telling me that my application had been recieved. On Dec. 9th, I received another computer generated e-mail informing me that I had been placed in the holding pool.

Exactly four weeks passed between application and advice of hold pool allocation.
Applied at the end of September, and as my Irish counterpart said, it was all generic email stuff.

Hang in there, as they need a ***** load of drivers!

Thank you for the information. I applied on line at the end of November and did receive the e-mail saying they had received the application almost right away, but have not heard anything since. My flight time is about the same as you gentlemen so I'm hoping to hear something soon.

An ex-collegue of mine just came back from interviews in Dubai and he says that some of the things that the psychologist said in the debrief COULD ONLY HAVE BEEN KNOWN IF THERE WAS A CAMERA AND MICROPHONE IN THE TEA ROOM. Now there's a good rumour...

They just advertised on climbto350 as well.. .Could it be that they want to have a huge pool to pick from for when they impose "new conditions" on their Pilots? I have seen it done somewhere else before, once or twice...

Are the Emirates working conditions or remuneration package about to change? I think I saw this mentioned on another thread recently.
