Guys. Just get in. Enjoy life with you family. Visit places you have never been. Then before you know it, its time for command... There are 1000 other super qualified FOs with previous command also waiting for their command. Your turn will come...

Better take payscale,s advise. Your number is 2000. At 4000 in you will get your command. Simple maths. Or do you have accelerated command mentioned in your contract? If thats the case then good for you, but I doubt it.
. Think 3-5 years otherwise you will be very bitter at the end. Then the wife gets bitter, then the kids, and then you start spitting your gut on pprune and thats getting a bit boring to be honest.

maybe as a not preferred candidate
(being german) it is allowed to ask a Questions?
I just noticed that the selection starts at 7am, any infos of the average duration of days 1 to 3?
If I am not preferred maybe infos for day 1 and 2 are enough
Honestly I don' think anybody except the locals is preferrred here maybe it is just your knowledge in the English language that give Guys from UK, CAN, RSA a little advantage.
But thats a little fear for me getting into a group with only native english speakers. Any expierence on this especially during the group exercise?
Thx

On my selection in December last year, there were 11 candidates.
Of the 4 who have made it, 1 SA, 1 UK, 1 USA, 1 Austrian.
I did not see any overt discrimination against any of the guys, there were 3 North Americans, 2 Iranians, 1 UK, 1 Brazilian, 1 Austrian, 1 Nordic fellow, 1 SA and 1 German.
The main requirements appeared to be an ability to get on with the other candidates in a pressure cooker environment, and know how to use the local taxis very early in the morning!
