Exclamation Drinking In-flight!!!!!!!

Has anybody heard of the flight attendant that was sack in the last 2 weeks for drinking alcohol in flight!!!! All the crew knew about it and the Captain conducted the SNIFF test which was confirmed with a breath test and a blood test as well on landing.
Of course this person was relieved of duty during the flight just in case it turned out to be true.

It was a GULF AIRline. Very happy with the strong stance the company took with the employee. It is one thing to turn up with a hang over, nothing a few panadol from the FAK can not fix. But to be actually drinking in flight in UNFORGIVABLE.

People, it's MUCH more common than you think. Humans are humans. Of course, I don't condone it for one minute, but I know of one (former) FA for a Middle Eastern carrier who regularly retired to one of the aft toilets with a cigarette and a (double vodka) orange juice after completing the service in a fully loaded Y class onboard a certain airline.

The stress of 192 screaming pax on a full load from DAC does take it's toll after a while!

All joking aside, I hope that the recently terminated FA, who is the subject of this thread, is sorted out. He or she must have had reasons (maybe most of us will not understand) for resorting to consuming alcohol on duty. Some people are addicted and need support. If this is the case here, I hope he/she gets it.

I agree, hope the person does get help if it is a addiction, but I doubt they will get the help from the companies pockets. Just a free flight home. A shame really.

A330MAN... I am surprised that there was any alcohol left after the service on a DAC flight. Good GOD those guys can drink!!!! Even the Irish Fa's are impressed with the amount these guys can drink.

Happened on a flight I was crewing last year as well.

Other crew member knew the FA socially. Was a great shame. Lovelly girl. Purser took a report from another senior FA, talked to her and then the captain.

Relieved from duty during the flight, did the landing home on the jump seat, taken straight to testing and never heard from again.

A great shame and a warning to all. People deal with stress in many different ways. This to me was a cry for help from someone unable to cope with all things Middle East.

I think I'll just head to the fridge for another!

This game of drinking during flight is nothing new. At The Goat a few years ago two south american gals cracked a couple of beers in full view of the CSD just to get sacked. Instant ticket home, free from bond.

Just imagine how aweful a place must be to resort to escape tactics like that.

Black Stain...

Yes it is a free ticket home. But this person had been here a while and had the indemnity money taken away. Could have bought several F/C tickets home with that. Or a deposit on a house back home.

Costly mistake........

Well, that can be an easy solution. Sick of your job? Sick of paying off your huge loan? Have a stiff drink and it's all taken care off. It's the only way to get payback since there are no unions to speak of.

Did I read correctly, or it is the yellow stuff?
"The Captain did a 'Sniff' check, and the hostie was in the 'Sack' for two weeks."
Wow.
Which company was this?
