Head of Sales and the fourty thieves
The story most of us would have heard when we were young was Ali Baba and the fourty thieves. But I bit you have not heard of " Head of Sales and the fourty thieves" . Check today's newspapers for the new appointments and movement of the managers of outstations sales in Gulf Air. HOS decided to shuffle around those thieves to cover up his failures. Has any one asked what was to be achieved by the change? Why the change now? And why some of these people are still there when they failed to delivered?
It is time to change HOS title to DOT (Den Of Thieves…. )
cheers..

HOS shuffles sales team to late
Gulf Air set to regroup sales team
MANAMA: Gulf Air is re-aligning its outstation sales force, which includes promoting several staff, many of whom are Bahrainis. This is to further enhance the company's strong presence in the Gulf and the Middle East region, where the airline has the biggest network.
"Gulf Air is aligning itself with the growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain and, as the nation's flag carrier, we are repositioning our sales strategies and our focus to be the airline of choice that will complement the development of the country and the region," said acting executive vice-president, marketing and sales, Danny Barranger. "The sales division is an integral part and a strong pillar in achieving the company's business objectives and in line with the new thrust, the company is strategically plotting its outstation management with a focus on upgrading the skills and competencies. The changes will be effective from November 25.
Anybody know who's who and where to where?

HOS outstation changes
This has been done several times before by Hogan, and HOS. Did it do anything to change the state of GF today, no!!!!
Desperate mesaures by someone who's run out of ideas. Posted managers are rotated by most companies anyway, including GF, so what's the big news?

incentives
The changes took place for two main reasons.
1-All managers in the middle east are persian origin,,the language used in their meetings was farsi,,,.
2-some are good entertainers,in places such as CAI,DAM,AMM,BEY,also RUH and KWI,so they deserve promotions.
The most strange is Bahrain owning the company,an Omani is playing big role in these transfers and not HOS
Wa alaikom essalam

OK. Brain in gear. Here goes.
I think you will find that the majority of the names on that list were Bahraini. So it looks pretty good that a bunch of Bahrainis have got new jobs, doesn't it? Even if many of them are just sideways moves.
The board is pleased. Plenty of spin on how management roles are being given to locals. It all makes for good PR.
That's my take on it anyhow.
