From today's GDN ...

Gulf Air gears for the future
MANAMA: Gulf Air is gearing up for the future, it was announced yesterday. The company's board of directors are formulating the 'way forward' strategy for the airline. "We want Bahrain's flag carrier to be the airline of choice and we are looking at ways in which we can broaden the horizon for the most established carrier in the region," says Gulf Air board chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji.
"We are also aligning Gulf Air growth with the economic development of the kingdom," says Mr Al Kooheji, who chaired a meeting of the board of directors at the airline's headquarters in Muharraq. The meeting was attended by other board members, Khalid Al Rumaihi, Adel Kanoo, Mohammed Almoayyed and also Gulf Air's top management, including acting president and chief executive Bjorn Naf and other senior executives.

Please pardon me if I'm not mistaken, but hasn't the bored being formulating a strategy since the start of the year ?
It's the same exercise that happened when AD arrived.

"Way Forward" means never messing around with the mess created behind you.

More power to them if this is indeed a true stategy as opposed to yet another thin veneer of paint on....

actually as opposed to shrinking the airline, the new and proper direction is a modest growth to match the growth here in Bahrain..heard like a 40+ or thereabouts fleet, as opposed to the 26 that was announced in April..to be announced in Dubai in November at the airshow..

we are shrinking, we are expanding, nobody knows, i asked our A/CEO on one of the open read shows, what is our vision for the future, and his answer was what was my vision !! is he kidding me, what a joke, then he added we are going forward, i asked forward to what, he answers forward and focus, he never answered the future vision. so as little as these words "I Have No Idea What I'm Doing do you want to tell me "

The wonders of the 2 minute Harvard Business School I guess with the Swiss failure in the backdrop, followed by experience in Kenya with the UN, one of the most corrupt and inefficient organisations in the world and now the Cold Store graduation PHD.

The new slogan for Gulf Air will be henceforth: "What to do and how do you think I should do it?"

Great vision since it has puzzled human kind from the time of our existence.

The day BN can help himself to the toilet roll on the wall after relieving himself from his overinflated bog, will be the day he sees better for himself than to pretend something he is not, never was and never will be.

When do we start operating to ZRH?

Yes we should all give the BN a break. He is a messenger boy. He can not make promises because it is not his call. Please before any of you jump on the "he increased our paypackage" bandwagon. He did not make the call. His enforcers (RB group) presented all to the board. It was the board that signed off not him.
For once BN can you just make a decision without trying to use the 2 hr pysch course you attended by questioning reversal?

Hi Soggyblonde,

Sorry but I was not asking for his job, as if he was doing a job, besides from siphoning money into his pockets.

If I want a future I know it is not GF or your likes that are going to give it to me.

So let me reassure you by finishing you off and saying that whomever you are and wherever you are from, GF is a bunch of moronic plantworms living in Utopia and think that GF is something!

GF is finished and if i were you I would start taking some memorabilia and photos.

Cheers

Soggyblonde,

What is your interest indefending people accused of embezzling the company's trust?

Is embezzelment common practice and accepted where you come from?

Oh and on another note Suzan is only in your imagination, but it would do you some good if she came to see you and slapped you around a little so you can wake up from your superior daze.

Smile!

Question

Since when does having a stand or being an exhibitor impact on an airlines ability to still place an order for aircraft at the show? Am I missing something here?

There will be lots of airlines placing orders which do not have a stand at the show.

Agree, there will be many other cariers placing orders, but don't think this was the subject of the original post.

GF will remain the thorn in the side of avition industry, simply because orders are announced, is not stating other that money has been obtained, and so to qwell the unrest while the US goes about its business in the "Persian" Gulf.

Nothing else indicates from what we see, that the organisation is doing any better, it is simply plodding along, will plod along like it always has and soon enough, the routines will settle back in; and good old practices will resume as if this episode was just another dusting of star achievements swept under the carpet.

It is true that GF is breaking ground in the industry, and no wonder it will always be the milk cow of the region, there is no accountability and no perfromance, or if any you will find it at BJ's where the girls are performing nightly for the highest bidder.

Wow!
