I am in the pool for almost 1 year and still no DOJ. It doesn't make any sense. If you have so much pilots in the pool why you are still doing recruitment. Many guys in the pool for a year and they won't wait forever and most probably they won't apply QR again in the future. QR just wasting the pilot source. If you decided to go middle east QR is not the only choice.

I am sure you will receive a DOJ soon though.
Good Luck!

I understand your frustration but I think the blockade has really slowed down QR expansion plan. I am 777 rated but I doubt I will receive an email soon. It seems they don't need many DECs for the time being. I hope to be wrong!

We have had applicants typed on 767/787/777/747 from the likes of Turkish, EK, EY, Avianca, LAN, Cathay, Korean, CargoLux Italy, etc. It’s really very competitive for an FO position, and we need about 100 for the T7 in the coming year.
Hang in there, be patient. Good things come to those that wait.

I was once given this advice many years ago when I was trying to get my first flying job. "until you arrive on day one, you have no job and until you have line checked, you're on probation"
keep looking and applying as you never know, you may get offered a job you'll consider sooner.

I have been in the pool as non tr DEC Boeing for over a year 2 friends of mine even longer now. Many guys are working on our plan B’s. If you are rated then you might get the call anytime. My 2 cents if you are non rated and are in the pool for 6 monts or so don't bother waiting and take other opportunities because you can’t plan on anything with Qatar Airways.
good luck

I believe non type rated DECs won't get anything in the foreseeable future. The airline is prioritizing promoting its own FOs rather than hiring DECs. QR have already sent emails to candidates in this situation saying they have nothing in the forecast for them, so maybe thinking a plan B is a good idea.
For FOs, things are starting to move again. I believe the wait period in the talent pool is going to slowly start reducing from the current 15-18 months timeframe to the 6-12 months timeframe, like it used to be before the blockade.

There are sufficient type rated and experienced Boeing DEC available to cover requirements until mid 2019, these supplemented by internal upgrades should cover the needs on the Boeing Fleets. No idea on Bus..IF you are swimming for the NTR DEC I would get a life jacket
