You are right Airmann, but really it was a privilege to join as a FTSO, and it would be great as a FO.

Its a one day process, but considering your location is in the USA, you will need to block 4-5 days off for travel and the interview. Typically QR will bring you out 1.5 days before your interview so you can adjust for jet-lag. You will depart the day after the interview.

You probably did not receive factual information. Currently have friends in training now (FO's) and they all have 3-bedroom apartments. FTSO/SO receive shared accomadations.

Is anyone here is off to Doha for the February's interview ?
Where else could i find tech questions to study for the technical quiz except ace the technical pilot in.. and bristol atpl bank ?

Regards !
Did you even attempt to read the last 2 pages. On page 197 is a detail review of someone interview experience who recently just attended. I also will echo what maddog said and add, if you don't want to read all 200 pages, at a minimum, read the last 3-6 months worth of post. That will probably answer most if not all your questions.

Ok guys to make it clear ive read most of the past posts , from previous experienced pilots who have attended qatar selection.
I just need another one reference regarding the material to study for the technical exam i.e questions to practise. For instance is the Bristol atpl bank ok ? thanks !

Company accommodation NO MORE

My Friend who is going there next month also was told to look for a house on his own after joining.
I guess they are not giving company accommodation anymore

Really? ... Is QR giving your friend a housing allowance to find a place since they are not providing company provided housing?

If you are offered housing allowance. How do you go about finding the deposit? Or do they take care of that.....

This is not true, because you have to take company housing from start. Then you have to bid for getting your own place, and the current wait for that now is one year. True facts.

Just confirmed from my friend in training. AKG is full. QR will put you in a hotel for one month then give 10k QR a month housing allowance or until they find new housing.

when I interviewed few months ago, Nobody brought their wives. There were 6 of us, 4 got hired. The previous day there were another 6 o7 pilots and again nobody had their wives with them.
Unless your wife really wants to see Doha first hand, I wouldn't waste money or the headache of having the wife in a stressful time.

SPEEDHOLD

Your wife can get visa on arrival since she got British Passport. Just have to use credit card to pay for visa on arrival. As for the hotel she can stay with you.

Never seen or heard of QR allowing wife to be in the interview session as well. So, I would say NO.
