GFA payslips

Hello,

For some months now, the delivery of payslips via ph has stopped. I'm still waiting for the website to work.
Are we ever getting payslips again?

Go Figure,

The last time I saw a pay slip was in Oct/06, When I asked how come no more pay slips in the PH, I was told that the AUH based crew need to go to BAH to acess the "EASY" system to print out their pay slips....

Seems the advancement of technology stops at the doors of the Pink Palace...

Pay slips

Printed payslips are now a thing of the past, you have to print them yourself from the Oracle system.
If you have to access it is under the 'Employee Self Service' section - Payslips.

Oracle is due to go live with 'Internet Access' very soon, I will try and get the timetable.

If you need full instructions or do not have access PM me.

I think the point is GF yet again shoots itself in the foot with it customary amateurish zeal. The old system of payslips on 'MyGulfair' worked OK. We stop that for system 'Easy', which I'm sure, will be better in the long run, but at the moment simply has no remote access. Why oh why one asks couldn’t we have waited until 'Easy' had been fully implemented, then do the change over? A similar tack could be used with most of our IT infrastructure which although a quantum leap forward on a few short years ago constantly reminds us 'Amateur hour' remains the order of the day at GF.

once the oracle debacle gets solved it will be a big step forward particularly in the staff travel dept...had a chat with the big boss of staff travel while he was fixing my leave ticket problem..he and one other are sequestered in a room full of computers trying to get the system all in place...and he outlined services soon to be available online from home...visits to staff travel will be a thing of the past...and yes some security issues with the oracle system have indeed made it unaccessable from anywhere other than the puzzle palace...but hey...auh base closes soon right?

Oracle is trying to sell the same system to us... Would anyone care to comment on the system, pros and cons?

Oracle

Sorry I didn't intend defending the Oracle implementation at GF. It was rolled out before it was ready and fully tested. It should have been implemented in a more thoughtful manner. Especially Staff Travel - probably the system with the most impact staff morale.

The Oracle system is sound but it was implemented by consultants who did not know what they were doing. I attended a number of meetings where we were told that a fault that we had found was 'Built in functionality'.

Things are improving because we have finally got people who know what they are doing, unfortunately it will take some time.
