shipping personal effects to DXB

Hi,
Has anybody shipped their house contents etc to DXB recently?
what did it cost you (from central europe) with a container?
Can you recommend an agency?
Did u ship any videos/DVD/books... etc? I have some wine, which I would hate to leave behind...If one has an alcohol licence in the UAE, is it allowed to import your wine ? Maybe not a good idea to break any rules right but if there is a way, I would like to take at least my precious wine with me.
Any info greatly appreciated. You can also pm me.
Thanks folks,
oooh...I hate moving.

Ship alcohol in quantities of no more than 4 litres, you will have the rest nabbed. Its your personal allowance, and you will be allowed no more. How else will MMI and African and Eastern make money, durrrrr (Booze shops).

Ship the rest with you on trips back home, 4 litres at a time.

you'll see after a few days actually, when you get checked (not trained) by some EK rocket scientist and when you have to deal with accomodation and the rest.
