Ariana

I'll have to fly from FRA to KBL next month to do some checks at Afghan airports. There are two weekly non-stop services by ARIANA (A-310). Sounds good to do it non-stop instead of flying FRA-DXB-KBL or even FRA-DXB-ISB-KBL. But how is ARIANA performing? Does anybody know?

Re: Ariana

Ariana have a new boss Dr. Mohammad Atash, hes an Afghan-American, and is doing his best to revamp the airline, they have signed a deal with Boeing for lease of two 757-200 to join the fleet some time in the near future, as well as ordered four 737-700 with winglets, a new colour scheme, a new look for website www.flyariana.com

They also pulled out of Munich, Riyadh and Quetta, added additional frequency to Frankfurt, made Moscow nonstop with A310 by dropping tech stop at Aktyubinsk that used a 727, I guess things are looking up for them

Re: Ariana

The two A300 machines being used on the Europe route are owned by "Eagle aviation" and are F-GEMO and another, they are maintained to European standards and seem okay, I have flown them to and from Dubai/Kabul.
No probs.

Re: Ariana

Just checked schedules at their site and the A300's are only being used to Delhi all the other places are mostly A310.

Moscow is back to 727 with tech stop at Baku which had been replaced with Aktyubinsk in summer 2005, their only remaining An-24 is also gone it was used for Dushanbe service which is now 727 as well.

Re: Ariana

Thanks for you replies!
So I guess I'll do it and fly Ariana from FRA to KBL. At least timewise it's much better than doing the DXB detur.
Selam from MGQ!
