Etihad's intention of acquiring a 40% + stake in Cargolux was announced several months ago.
I wonder if they will manage to pull this off... We have a fair amount of CLX 744's pass through Abu Dhabi already... I would expect a couple to change to EY's livery too...

Hi Newscaster,
Possibly - it means that through the routes served by Cargolux, the Etihad name and look will reach parts of the world that it so far hasn't! I personally expect that a limited number of the Cargolux planes WILL bear the EY logo or livery.
Clever marketing. (Just in the way that the Qatar Airways logo and livery and name is seen in places as far afield and diverse as Palma, Toronto, Denver, Houston, Brasilia, Havana, Edinburgh, Nice, Venice, Washington, Corfu...............but QR doesn't operate to any of those places, but the Amiri Flight regularly visits there weraing the full Qatar Airways logo).
There is method in the madness of EY, I would say........

I doubt it has anything to do with marketing because Abu Dhabi and Dubai Royal govt. aircraft do not wear Etihad or Emirates liveries, and Saudi Arabia have always kept their Royal fleet in SV livery since not so image concious times.
Kuwait govt. 744 infact does commercial flights as well depending availability.
Infact I had read soemwhere that these airlines actually operate and maintain the aircraft for the govt. using their codes etc. thats why the livery, as in they are part of the respective airliens fleet.
