Don't know the answer to your second question, but it would be impossible to do what you suggest, i.e. commute between Europe and the Gulf, especially if you have a rostered based position that requires minimum rests, etc to be observed, and even more especially if you need to rely on discounted ID travel to carry out the commuting.
If you are rich and can afford full fare seating all the way, maybe you can.............
What position are you speaking of anyway? Cabin, cockpit or other?

Well considering the wonderful atmosphere that prevails in QR, I'd only recommend QR!
+ living in Doha is just one of those other wonderfull experiences, you know so savvy and a touch of je ne sais quoi local culture!

Bahrain clean!!??
It's an interesting perception of the place....
Although when compared to other sandpits in the region, I cant help but agree. hmmmmm
Take it from me dude - if 'clean' becomes a deciding factor - stick to wherever you are now.
If a good time, lots of fun, way too much socialising is what you're after - Paradise island is a good choice.
But clean....?? I need to go and think about that one....
