Good idiea Leftwing with all those new airlines, expansions, pilotshortages a forum would be a help but for it to really pick up the Indian DGCA needs to let expat pilots to work in India unrestricted not just 6 month contracts maybe extending to 3 yrs in 6 month installments, though India has a large pool of highly experienced flt deck crew the need of the hour is a open market policy ie a level playing field. POLICY LET THEM COME ITS A FREE WORLD .

"POLICY LET THEM COME ITS A FREE WORLD " Its not !

How come must have Green Card to fly in USA or must have right to live and work in EU to fly in Europe. So a free world its not.

But yes the fourm will help the guys headed to India for the short time with more info.

Work in India

Kunn Dize mate you never cease to surprise me!

I guess we must now mention how bigotted kiwis are?

What would you think if indian pilots came to work in NZ?

So if I understand right it's ok for all whity boys to work everywhere in the world bbut not for indians, arabs and or other nationalities.

Open your borders and then we talk, until then, I think India has a major concern of employing their own!!

Because people want to live and work in those places, that's why.
You've obviously never lived in India, and got a long way to go!

What type of seating does AI now offer on its B744's in F and J class? It's ages since I've flown with the Company, and recall that J class seating was a bit naff and hardly reclined.

Surely it's now better?????

This is - supposedly the "official" India forum, where all things pertaining to India are discussed. Or, did you actually mean to entitle the thread something else?

Perhaps "edit" the title then to be more specific with regards to your real intent.

leftwing , this forum is good enough.it would get boring for you without someof the colorful characters hanging around the middle east.

I agree Mav, not only local pilots from the subcontinent but xpat pilots benefit as well heading in that direction.

200+ a/c's comming in India; and a few more here and there it needs a better forum rather than info splt up in FE & ME fourms.

1 vote here.

Dear Moderator

Dear Moderator,

I assume that since, you are moderating this topic, you can kindly bring it to the notice of the Pprune management, that we would like to have a page dedicated to the Indian Subcontinent forum, even if its on a trial basis for a stipulated period of time. If the responses and topics discussed are worthwhile to ther aviators, then its up to the Pprune staff to keep it or otherwise.

Thankyou for considering,

Mav and all the others wanting this to happen. It is under consideration but I wouldn't get all excited about it - these things take time. Keep the motivations coming in & in the mean-time please consider this forum as your home. 4HP

Cheers!!!

Post India Forum

KunnDize stay in your small world and spray crops. The Indians do not require single engine VFR drivers.

What a wonderful first post. One more like this & I shall show you the door my good man. Keep it nice please. 4HP

Glorified Donkey,

Thats the point I'm trying to make here, India is not ME and its not FE either, If there can be one just for Hong Kong with only 2 real airlines; so pls why not a fourm for the Indian subconti after all they did place the highest orders at Paris air show.

Adverts for pilots and avition pros all over for jobs in India, it just makes all the info in one new fourm rather than going back and forth from ME to FE.

So pls vote and sell the idea to Mr. Moderator.

Oh Oh

Well as for an Indian forum, great stuff, but it doesn't really benefit anyone unless of course you are Indian or are looking for a short DEC position. So good luck guys nice to see that the industry is moving somewhere.

Talking Advantages

Well, I agree that India is moslty open to Indian pilots, but that's just coz it has to cater to the interest of the over 1000 of unemployed Indian Commercial Pilot License holders. ( I wudnt say thats an exact figure, but its somwhere around there, maybe more). I believe that there's similar practices by member states of the E.U. To have the right to live and work in the E.U.

I agree that the Indian subcontinent is small compared to the EU. But look at the number of Passengers and traffic emerging from the Indian SUBCONTINENT...Consider the aircraft orders and open sky policies being discussed. If India is doing it today, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the others will do so tomorrow and may even be examples to others....

Lets be optimistic as Aviation is all about being optimistic isn't it ?

Its a matter of time, that our HOPEFULLNESS will turn into a NEW FORUM PAGE for the Indian Subcontinent...
Hope is the Fuel for the Subcontinent aircrafts now..and I'm sure there are a good number of us who have PLENTY of that..

So here goes....
Lets HOPE and wait....!!!
