Factoring?

Hi guys,

Lots of rumours flying around about the factoring of hours, or the end of the factoring, for augmented flights at EK.

Anybody with some good info?

Regards.

I suggest we all write in to management and ask the same question. In our new crew portal's web page, there is the rumour page. They also supply an email address for this sort of question.

So let us all write in and soon we should know. I know of a couple of guys who have written in, and thus far have received no word from management. I suspect that something must be cooking over this whole subject. We can only hope.

Regards

Devil

I would not hold your breath waiting for a reply to "Rumour Buster" unless you have an endless supply of Air and can breath underwater standing on your head......and are happy with your roster and leave.
Its more than a couple of guys who have written in and received no replies.

Looks like the web site is updated about as Frequently as the Security Briefing Folder at Briefing...........
Any one worked out yet what the "Quick Poll" is ? Is this something to do with Athletics and high jumping.

The sooner this gets changed the better. At best immoral, at worst illegal. On the A340, we are all very, very tired.

And the latest: fleet management now phoning up individual flight deck crew who have gone sick, for a little chat. And I don't think it's out of concern for their health.........

Is this not part of their 'duty of care' towards it's employees.
I was told it's to ensure sickness on B777 fleet is not fatigued related. They have big problem on 340 so don't want same pattern on Boeing fleet.Wait for the ER's to arrive!!

Check this:

When Etihad applied for the same waiver of augmented crew ops, GCAA bounced it "because it was never intended to go over 100 hrs in 28 days".

Apparently someone didn`t get his UK licence validated after they found out he had done more than the 100 hrs. He then went for a visit at the GCAA.

Augmenting to SEZ seems to be illegal according to FOM.

So is coming back from PVG.

Other rumours: two Airbus captains left.

Management is in denial over above topics. (surprise)

cheers, Bylaw

As suggested above gents. We must keep the pressure on by ASR's and when fatigued, step away from that duty. Let them call collect for all I care.

Exclamation

JUST CURIOUS .

Weren't you guys at EK flying the same flights and the same rosters before the Productive Pay Scheme was introduced? What new sectors or destinations etc has EK introduced that are different from your rosters prior to the PPS? So isn't it a fact that when you were flying identical rosters and flights prior to the introduction of PPS you never complained about fatigue and never had a bout of that MICROSLEEP (laughable). Why then now this sudden fatigue?

Let me tell you. It is becuase you had gotten used to getting paid for sitting idle, and now that the company is paying you only when you work you don't like it. And one other thing, were you guys being paid for getting picked up on an off day prior to PPS...NO. Now you get AED800 when picked up on an off day, but while cribbing and trying to mislead here you never mention this.Oh and one other thing, recently when the company removed pilots from some flights in consideration of the alleged fatigue, 99% of those removed called back and requested scheduling to put them back on their flights.

I think that it is a very small group that is misleading and failing miserably. Their agenda seems simple...put EK out of business just as they were a contributory factor in shutting down operations of their previous carriers. This lot is nobody's friend or well wisher, sadly not even their own.

I'm curious as well. Has anybody actually been paid for working on a day off or have crewing always got out of it by giving you a day off later in the month?

Veni

I'd imagine we don't mention the Dhs800 as it's rather an embarrassment. You don't even get the day off back unless it's a legal requirement.

Anyway, in answer to your question, this new productivity scheme was brought in just after we started ultra long haul. People were not operating the number of flights that they do now and Fatigue, as you know is a cumulative problem that manifests itself weeks if not months later.

I'm sure there will be plenty more to come on this subject.

BigGeordie

Not yet...........still waiting for day off as well!!

BYMONEK,

That's a rather unusually negative post from you! Beginning to see the light?

Eureka

Considering all the posts about factoring and the ASRs from a handful of EK drivers, I would build the off days after a couple of flights rather than allow bids that opt for consecutive blocks of off days. Then there will be no fatigue related rubbish under the garb of safety. Thereafter we can expect threads/posts complaining that not enough time is being allowed for commuting or facilitating personal pursuits.

Isn't it time that you understand that the company has employed you to do a job, for which it pays and looks after you reasonably better than other carriers in the region and the world, and the employment given is not to facilitate your personal agendas. The sooner you accept this the better it will be for you all, for the company I am sure has no dearth of would be employees with far greater experience than most of you had at the time of joining.

Didn't you get enough bites from your last attempt.

Better luck next time.

Veni Veni Veni,

I don't know whether you should keep taking those tablets. They clearly interfere with your ability to write anything intelligent.

Maybe you could consider alternative medical help, your current treatment regime simply is not working.

In the mean time, get plenty of rest and try not to think.

DL's got it right:

Smile Hilarious

I had imagined that EK whingers would participate with healthy comments and arguments to advance their case, if there was any to begin with. Unfortunately as there is no cogent argument that EK whingers can present to refute facts that I have presented, they as usual are taking personal flings at me.

I better run off and prepare for my flight ( I have to work in order to earn, unlike some friends here, and I work happily)

Well I am very glad that you are happy with your present employment VVV. You sure you were not called Albatross in a past Prune life?

Right chaps, anyone else not have credit and block hours shown on the April roster? Is this a way of saving ink to add to profit share? Was it forgotten in the hast to get rosters out? Any clues?
