Qatar Amiri Flight A330-200 in service
I've heard via the grapevine that the Qatari Amiri Flight A330-200 finally delivered from the completion center last week & was wondering if it had been put into service yet.
Other rumours of the A340-500 at the same completion center becoming a "hangar queen" with substantial delays and no firm recovery schedule.
Anyone with any hotties on these a/c?

4HP,
Haven't heard anything about the A330 having problems. There is a foto on a-net showing the aircraft currently parked up in Canada or somewhere, where clearly one of the family are skiing. As far as I know, the aircraft is doing ok, now that it's eventually in service.
Also, I saw the old existing A340-200 at LHR the other day, now fully painted in QR colours, as opposed to the old State of Qatar colours. There is also a shot of the same on a-net.
This is a bit bizarre, given that they were reportedly getting rid of the A342 once the A332 came along. And with the A345 also just about to join the fleet.
If my reckoning is correct, that means that the Qatar Amiri flight now has the following fleet, all painted in full QR colours
2 x Bombardier Global Express
1 x Airbus A319CJ
1 x Airbus A319LR (shared with mainline - being delivered next week)
1 x Airbus A320
1 x Airbus A310-300
1 x Airbus A330-200
1 x Airbus A340-200
1 x Airbus A340-500
That's a staggering 8 aircraft!!!!!! Wow - these people really ARE rich.

Hi,
Yes they are 8 aircraft, but as I understand, they are used for VIP charter flights. Now I do not know who VIP are, but I assume it's anyone in need of chartering a plane.
If you go to www.pilotcareercenter.com and navigate to the company profile, you will find that they are placed under Airline and charter.
Having said that we still need a QR insider to give us a better picture.
Cheers
