QR NOT DOING SO WELL AT ALL:
My friends tell me that QR have a number of aircraft grounded due to low numbers of Flight Deck crew - not a good sign at all.
QR are still recruiting in all departments and desperate for Flight Deck/ Cabin Crew for the usual same reasons - poor treatment and the never ending low crew morale.
Will this situation ever change?......................

Actually not so many aircraft grounded due to crew shortage. The 4 original A320's (except ABR) have all been taken out of service and were parked up for a little while in Doha, while the transfer of paperwork back to SALE was completed. The three aircraft (ABS, ABT, ABU) have all since been flown to the UK, refitted and repainted, and are now heading to India to enter service with a new low cost airline, Air Deccan. (I think all three - but maybe only two??)
Not sure when and if ABR will be departing.
A300's AFA, AFC and AFD have all recently spent some time on the ground, but only while they were being re-painted into the full Grey and Cream colours. (They all formerly flew in all-white albino colours!).
The A319's spend a little more time on the ground in Doha than the other machines since their LR capabilities dictates that they are only used on certain services. (e.g. Moscow and Zurich). However, with loads on the Moscow services being so good these days, the A300 frequently is used instead of the A319.
Not to forget that the Amiri flight now has an increasing number of aircraft, and these spend quite a bit of time on the ramp in Doha too.
Finally, the sheer size of the QR fleet currently means that at certain times of the week, the parking space availability on the ground is very difficult. As a consequence, certain aircraft are now being parked during turnaround across the runway at the area normally used by military charter transport. So, upon take off, it may "appear" that QR has several aircraft parked-up and temporarily WFU. This is not (entirely) the case.
I recall a couple of Friday's back when even the main taxi-ways were being used as parking and I boarded an A300 flight to Munich which was parked on a taxiway parallel to the terminal building.
Fastest boarding I have ever seen the crew complete ever!

Qatar questions
I would appreciate if you have any information regarding duty time versus days off on the A320 and the A300. Also how many days away from Doha do you have during 1 month? What is the average night stop? Do you stay at international standard hotels during layovers?
Any information will be must appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Cheers!!
