Red face Seeking Gulf Air B767 recruitment info....CAN ANYONE HELP PLS..IM SURE SOMEONE CAN...

Hello to you all,

Im expecting an interview dat soon and was just interested to see if anyone can shed any light on myself on the current recruitment and interview process for Gulf Air, on the B767's as a F/O.

Also would like to know about the cost of living (rent, food..etc..) to have a rough idea on what to expect. Is Bahrain city similar to Dubai's living standard???

Would much appreciate it if any one could help out or direct me to another existing posting.

Thankyou.

Could you just indicate me your experience on 767?
I have just been told that my application was not accepted, and I have 400h as 767 F/O.

I was just wondering.

Thks

Cumulo

for your info I have over 700hrs on type and over 1300hrs on the B737 as an F/O.

If you read there minimum requirements on the website, it states that you need to have minimum of 500hrs on type....

This might answer your question as to why.

Goodluck.

Don't want to be rude but this has been discussed many times.
I have written a few threads on the subject.
Just do a search on this forum and you will find what you need.
As far as interview, if you have been called for one, you have the job. Just show up and it is yours to take.

Good luck...

NTM,

Thankyou for that encouraging message but how true is it, and is it really that easy to get into an airline, such as Gulf Air??

Ive been through a DLR test and know how difficult it can get in order to get into a European major airline. If you dont prepaire yourself for it, it is extremly stressfull and hard work for 4 days.

Lets just hope its as easy as you say so its one less thing to worry about. Does this go to say anything on the professionalism of the company?? or its way of operating???

Also I did do a search and did not find anything relevant to what I was looking for, maybe you might lead myself onto something!

Thanks!!

i managed to pass a selection and am starting next month, the interview process has changed considerably of late and is now quite thorough and similar to most other large carriers. and in fact some were unsuccessful on our group. in my opinion, and its only my opinion, the operation appeared proffessional and the selection panel went out of their way to be honest regarding t&c's. have a look for yourself

Talking Yes Ive Made It

Hello to you all, yes i have made it into Gulf Air.

It was not just a straight walk into the company, they were actually very professional in there way of conducting the recruitment and screening candidates through there new testing process. It was definately not easy and not very hard if you kow your stuff, and come prepared.

Im very happy so far of what ive seen here and look forward to growing with the comapny.

Dreams do come true and always think positive and be motivatied and dtermined and it will happen.

I have heard that GF are considering hiring non-type rated pilots without jet experience. We just hope and pray.

Thought you were desperate for QR superman. Have to say your change of interest to GF is well founded. I'd personally hate to live in Doha. it's a dump.

ia1666

thanks for your comments, but I think you have confused me with someone else, QR was never on my list.

Secondly I am not based in Doha......interesting where you get your facts from. From what Ive seen here in BAHRAIN, its a liveable city as long as you have patience and an open minded person.

AND FOR ALL YOU OTHER GUYS INTERESTED IN INFO FOR THE INTERVIEW, IS JUST PLEASE STUDY HARD ON YOUR AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE AS YOU HAVE ALOT OF QUESTIONS TO ANSWER FOR THE B767. YOU WILL ALSO GET YOUR GENERAL APTITUDE TESTS, BUT A NEWLY REVISED ONE WHICH IS MORE HARDER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONES THAT YOU MAY HAVE SAT FOR FOR OTHER EMPLOYERS. IF YOU HAVE SAT THE GERMAN DLR TEST AND RATE THAT A 10 OUT OF 10, THE THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY FOR THIS ONE WOULD BE 7. THATS MY JUDGEMENT. GUYS JUST BE YOURSELF ON THE DAY AND YOU WILL BE OK, THEY ARE GREAT PEOPLE AT THE INTERVIEW AND MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME.
SORRY IM A BIT VAGUE, BUT THIS IS ALL I CAN SAY AS I WAS IN THE SAME SITUATION AS YOU ALL, SO DONT WANT TO BE UNFAIR.

SO GOODLUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!!!!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU ON BOARD SOON.

Basically GF are desperate for flight deck on 767, especially Capt's. If you sound really keen at the interview, you have a good chance. I'm pretty sure, as it has always been the case that type-rated guys only have a chance. Currently, there are 4 767's based in Bahrain and 5 in Abu Dhabi, but right now they want Capt's and F/O's to be based in Bahrain. They have asked for 7 Abu Dhabi based ( Gulf Traveller ) crews to go back to Bahrain. Not many are keen, as a lot of the AUH crews, live in Dubai and commute to AUH. Bahrain is good but Dubai is definately better, socially. Just remember most of the 767 routes are Sub-Continent, as well as some Middle East and Gulf Region. Gets tedious at times. The Company in general is pretty good to work for.
Good luck, hope it all works out for you all.
