So the SAA techs are working on it? Makes sense since they already have the A340-200. Hey is it true that the A340-300's for Emirates are flown by Lufthansa pilots? Anyways they were pretty lucky that noone got seriously hurt.

No it isn't true that LH pilots fly the EK340's or any EK aeroplanes, MD11.

Ok just wanted to confirm because I read a newspaper clip on airliners.net and it said that the pilots were from Lufthansa so I didn't know if they were contract or they came from Lufthansa to join Emirates.

Sorry pal, hate to bring this too you this way.. They were hardly lucky. They were first of all very unlucky to be on the flight that got screwed. Then they were very professional to get it up, around and down in one piece.

And by the way... Emirates pilots fly Emirates airplanes, no one else (except the cargo-dogs from Atlas)
