Dubai - future tourist attraction??????

I heard some interesting news on the radio today. Apparently there is a plan to build "Dubai-World", the middle east's version of Disney. It will have an artificial rain forest under a huge glass dome, fake mountain with fake snow, rides, shops, and other attractions. Now if that doesn't brighten your day.....
PS: I'm not making this up.

It sounds rather interesting and no dought that it will contribute to Dubai´s growth if it goes ahead.

They anticipate 5,000,000 visitors a year.

A bit optimistic, me-thinks.

However, it's a nice spot, and good luck to them.

Try 10,000,000 by 2010.

Those 380's will be full.

Thumbs up

Actually it's Dubailand - http://www.gulfnews.com/Articles/new...ticleID=100897
It would be interesting to see the "marketing" strategy. Being 6hrs+ from the UK, will it encourage the Mediterranean "bucket & spade" brigade to try and go that little bit further, or persuade the "long-haul" brigade not to have to put up with 9-12hr flights to the Caribbean?

Here is the website:http://www.dubailand.ae
If you look at the location map you'll see that the project is as big as the city of Dubai itself!
