Failed lantern test
Hey guys. Had my CAA lantern test today and failed it
Not sure exactly what to do now, I could get a restricted CPL in the UK, althought I don't know how many job opportunities that will give me. Am also thinking about going to Australia to get a ATPL, tho I will never be able to be based in the uk

Sorry to hear that, Blinkz. It's worth doing a search on the numerous threads in this forum relating to colour blindness / lantern tests, because I believe there are 2 other options (speaking from memory as I haven't done the search and colour vision isn't my problem) - Spectroscope (or is that the lantern?) or a test which involves ATC showing you lamps while you're alongside an approved assessor. May be total bu11$h1t, but check it out anyway.
PS I'm in Livingston - which side are you?

OK, Blinkz.... I'm now at work with a decent broadband connection and can search a bit better. My memory was partially correct - the 'Signal Light Test' is an FAA test.
Colour Blindness Thread 1 - gives a lot of detail about the process / tests
Colour Blindness Thread 2 - describes signal light test
