Class 1 medical
Hi. I am worried I won't pass the class 1 medical as I have a weird thing where when I swallow big food such as a main meal, I have a this feeling on the right hand side of the throat and neck (sometimes ear). Its not a pain as such and I don't have any hearing/swallowing problems it's just a sort of sensertive-like feeling and doesn't happen with water etc.. Had it for ages and been to the drs many times and have had tests done but all have come back clear and and they are certain it's not a concerning issue. Otherwise I'm completely fit (as far as I'm aware). I have spoken to E&T specialist who think it's possibly growing pains. What do you think about my chances of passing?

Do you want a medical or not? Don't create problems where there don't need to be problems. You have to fill in a form with loads of yes/no tick boxes for your medical history. When you get to ENT I would strongly advise you to tick 'no' because a doctor has told you there's nothing wrong with you.

Hi, I am worried I won't pass as I have a weird thing where when I swallow big food such as a main meal, I have a this feeling on the right hand side of the throat and neck (sometimes ear). After I have eaten a main meal, I sometimes get a slight 'pain' in the neck (right). The throat thing is not a pain and I don't have any hearing/swallow problems it's just a sort of sensertive-like feeling and doesn't happen with water etc.. Had it for ages and been to the drs many times and have had tests done (ultra sound, blood tests, barium swallow) but all have come back clear and and they are certain it's not a concerning issue. Otherwise I'm completely fit (as far as I'm aware). I have spoken to E&T specialist who think it's possibly growing pains and don't ever investigate further unless I beg them😂 (last time I did that they sent me for a barium swallow which as I said came back clear). What do you think about my chances of passing?

On this item 100%. Listen to the doctor - he says there is nothing wrong. You will have to declare it so ensure you have his summary saying there is nothing wrong and the barium result saying there is nothing wrong

I think what radgirl is actually saying is that since the issue you describe has been investigated and your docs aren’t concerned that one item won’t cause you to fail a Class One….as for the rest, good luck.
