JAA medical requirements for commencing type rating
Hi guys,
I tried asking this question on the pilot training section but didn't get an answer so thought I would try on here.
Got a A320 TR course commencing in a couple of weeks. Question is does my UK JAA Medical need to be valid before the commencement of the course, or is it needed for the skills test or even just the licence issuance?
I have tried finding this information out myself and looked through CAP 804 but found nothing. I called the UK CAA and even they weren't sure of the regulations or where to find them
Anyone been in this position or know where I can find out the regulations in writing?
I don't want the CAA coming back to me later and saying, "oh you should have had the medical prior to commencement of the course, so we can't issue your rating".
Any help on this much appreciate.
Alex

Not sure about the (sim) training, but you need a medical when doing your check ride. Otherwise, the check is invalid. Thatīs what a TRE told me.
