Is there pilots that can relate to a medical loss due to Tinitus.

I am interested in finding methods to cope with this debilitating injury.

I don't know if it always results in a loss of medical. I've had it for 60 years and it never affected me and i have never had medication. I really don't notice it unless something reminds me - like this posting! Now it's buzzing away but it will go soon..

In addition, I have been taking Ginkgo Biloba tablets and it seemes to help.

Here's the paradox of the aviation medical world.

On one hand, you should get it checked out to make sure there is no underlying sinister cause, (which is extremely unlikely).

On the other, if you kept quiet, no-one would be any the wiser, as tinnitus is nearly always subjective (ie, only you know you've got it.)

Never heard of anyone being grounded for tinnitus on this forum,and it has been mentioned before (try a search.)

does it not effect your hearing spectrum

thus the frequency response of your audiogram will be effected.
