These little white chunks look just like a piece of peanut that has been cought in my teeth but i dont eat nuts . It only happens when i start back after a break and it can happen with cardio or weight workouts is this from my lungs/throat/stomach or what and what is it should i be worried i did used to have atsma as a kid but a doctor told me i am over that know so what is the storie ?. .. .thanks hun

Would be wrong for anyone to try and give you an answer / diagnosis using this forum alone. Best to go and see your GP.. .. .Chest infections can result in white phlegm being coughed up, but solid white chunks???. .. .It would be difficult for anything to be returned from the lungs by breathing and not coughing or the stomach without vomiting.. .. .Try and take a sample of the stuff with you when you see the GP.. .. .Sorry I can't be of any more help. Any other medics have an idea?

If you are otherwise well the likeliest source for small white slightly gritty bits that you cough up is from the tonsils. Have a look at the back of your throat and see if there are white spots on your tonsils. These are deposits in the tonsilar crypts and can be dislodged and therfore expectorated when coughing.
Or maybe it's.... THRUSH!. .. .As if trying to recapture, that first, fine careless rapture.... .. .Bits like cheese (Wensleydale, as Wallace and Grommit would say, and it is as well).. .. .Caused by, among other things, taking antibiotics, or being run down (though not by a bus - symptoms are different for that!)
