Expired JAA medical
I'm currently doing the single addon for the CPL in USA (already have the multi commerical). Since I took my private in Norway, I will take the single commercial based on a foreign license (I have a valid letter of authorization from FSDO).
The problem: I have a JAA class 1 medical that expired a week ago and I will not finish the single addon for another week or two. My question is, do my european medical need to be valid for the check ride? I have a valid US medical.
And if not, is there any possibilities for renewing the medical here in the US?
Thanks for any anwsers!

Hi Marius,
If you check your letter of authorization I think it will state something like "If your foreign medical has expired, you will need to obtain an American medical". Short answer: No, you don't need a valid European medical.
Anyway, if you are the Marius that I know from SAA in San Diego, the closest JAA AME you can find is Phoenix, Scottsdale airport I believe.

172_driver, I live in Florida, so I'm not the Marius you know.
I looked at my LoA now, and as you said, as long as I have a valid US medical, I should be ok.
Thanks!
