Sleeping on my left side (????)
I wondered if anyone was able to shed light on a strange 'medical condition'.
Basically, after a car accident some years ago I had to sleep on my right to stop a plaster cast sticking into me during the night. I've since found that my return to left-handed sleeping causes my stomach to gurgle enlessly until I roll back over, bloated, onto my right side.
I caught the end of a radio broadcast suggesting that sleeping on your left aids digestion.
Any thoughts? I'm getting complaints from the wife, for various reasons.

It's a first on me
Most of the outer body is symmetrical (it makes things easier for doctors), but the convolutions of the inner body generally resemble the pattern of a Warrington Street Map. This is why most surgeons are grumpy.

I was told you should sleep on your left side to get rid of trapped wind
Your intestines apparently exit on the right hand side of your abdomen so it lets the gas rise up the last section of the tube or something??
Nice.
