7 lates in a row with a ban on hot foods on board! healthy??

Hello, I am working for a small regional operator who have now banned bringing even hot foods in flasks, there is no provision on board.

As well as being restriced to drinking tea or water all day, they have now banned, sauces, jams, mayonaise, yogurts etc.

Basically at present our only option is to bring sandwiches and salads etc.

The only way of having a hot meal in the day is either for breakfast (I find it hard to stomach early in the morning) or at 11pm just before going to bed.
I find it hard to believe this can be good over a long period of time.

Are these restrictions legal? are there not any employment laws requiring the provision of meals, should the company be providing for us?

Cheers

Chris

On what basis have they banned all these foods? Sounds like a very strange rule. The only one on your list I could see being a possible salmonella chance there was mayonnaise, otherwise....? Infact, sandwiches can be lethal if not kept at a cool temperature, so I guess its just a matter of time before those are banned also???
I used to carry thick soup in a flask on our night mail flights and was never ill off that, nor did I spill it in the cockpit. Tho' my licence still displays the remains of a spill in my flight bag one day and that was 10 years ago.....

Having said that, not having a hot meal is not going to do you any harm whatsoever. It just seems like a rather daft ruling.

At least you'll live a bit longer.

All joking apart, on what basis have they banned them?
